Another early start getting to breakfast and getting the kids signed in.
Mum decides to go for a session in the gym and I for a local walk to the other part of Kata Beach.
The walking is the easy bit until it goes up hill its not long after 9 am and the heat and humidity is always there it is only 2 or 3 'c cooler at night than the day.
The short hill climb puffs me out.
I find a set of steep steps down to the beach, as the tide is in it leaves very little beach for use and the waves are still high.
It was good to cool the feet down. It appears that the headland between the two sections of Kata beach is privately owned by various hotels and does not appear to have an accessible path that follows the sea around.
It is a steep climb back up the 200 or so steps and the thighs are burning. great to get to the top and follow the road back down the other side again.
I find an alley way pointing to the beach and browse the clothing shop in search of some shorts.
Cost 350 Baht.
A stroll thru the restaurant comes out on to the far southern end of Kata main beach.
This section of beach is mainly taken by what appear to be Caucasians which is in contrast to Club Med where at least 80% of guests are from Japan, China, Korea and Hong Kong.
Club Med takes up about 80% of the foreshore but not the beach.
I had arranged to meet Mum at the Zen pool which is at one end of the resort and is Kid free and a set aside quiet zone it has its own horizon pool.
