Underwhelming KLIA2 Scores 3 out of 10.
After passing thru the LCCT a couple of years ago with its problems of seating at the gates and the layout needing some refinement I was excited by the prospect of having to spend almost 5 hrs in an alleged much improved airport ready to take on the the 21st. Century.
Well very soon after arriving my expectations were somewhat cut down or almost run over by the speeding golf carts shuttling at speed the supposed less able than ourselves.
A closer look at the bones of the building shows numerous repairs to the walls and ceilings due to water leaks and many unattended to showing stains.
Our first visit to a toilet showed broken toilet seats and fittings missing in fact most of the fitting did not look less than 18 months old but looked like they had be rescued from from the LCCT.
The children's play are was sadly lacking anything to play on and no children in site. The movie area was no more than a handful of seats already occupied by the long term passengers.
The carpet throughout the terminal had never seen a carpet cleaner and was covered in stains.
The more we moved thru the terminal the more I wish we were back in the LCCT.
We had a chicken burger and chip Louisiana style and that was hard for two members of staff to get the order right.
We had to head to the L gates and made the mistake of heading there too early as we had to pass thru another security check. The whole of the L and K gate area is way too small and crowded. We found that many gate seating areas were not open even though the departures board said they were make the general area crowded with all seats full and passengers left to sit on the floor. The area only has two food outlets which were very run down including Gloria. Jeans.
There were phones missing from walls and doors hanging off cabinets in the parenting room.
